This is one of the funniest episodes on HIMYM. I was literally on the floor laughing. This episode is about when ted meets some girl on the subway and is suddenly attracted to her because he sees her reading One Hundred Years Of Solitude. He tells the gang that thats the love of his life. Ted hopes to find her again and does find her after a fire alarm at his columbia building. He believes it was destiny (dumdum) but marshall and lilly said she stalked him. What made this episode SO funny is Robin Daggers. When Robin admits she was once a stalker but won't admit who she used to stalk till barney's determination to find out gets him on a plane to canada to interview her ex's. He basically gets a copy of a documentary talking about robin's career. IT IS HILARIOUS. The video IS HILARIOUS
SLAP BET
Lol, this episodeeeee. This is when they all discover that robin has a secret but have no idea what it is, Marshall thought she was married while barney thought she was a porn star, when she was just Robin Sparkles. Then they all agree to a slap bet where lily is the slap bet commisioner. Robin then lies to ted saying she got married at a mall, so ted tells them all and then thinking he's one he slaps barney, but barney still looked into it. Later finding out that she actually wasn't ever married barney is then given the right to slap marshall 3 times (one slap because Marshall lied, and two for being prematurely slapped). They find the robin sparkles video, and then as their watching it, it seems like a porn video at first. So barney pauses it and slaps marshall thinking he was right all along, but then robin tells them it isnt porn. Lily then tells barney that he hasnt one the slap bet . Lily then gives Marshall the right to slap Barney either ten times immediately in succession or five times available to Marshall for all of eternity. Barney picks the five slaps which ted then assures him was the wrong one to pick considering he'd now be living in fear. Marshall ends up slapping him just once
THE PLAYBOOK
This episode is where we're all introduced to The Playbook. This episode is shortly after Barney and robin broke up. With Robin thropwing herself into her career and barney and marshall saying she'd probably be married in 6 months. And with barney back to being himself going back to the dating scene using the playbook. Meanwhile lily found it was time to introduce ted to one of her friends which she stood ted up for. Turned out she got to the bar early and ran into "Lorenzo von matterhorn" (which was barney just btw) Lorenzo von matterhorn is a play in his playbook. Lily then tells shelly (the girl she wanted to set ted up with who met barney) that everything lorenzo von matterhorn told her aka barney was a lie. Lily confronts barney angrily and tells him if he doesnt stop she'd post the playbook online (which she had) he then shows up and tells them he's going to perfrom his last play called the scuba diver. Lily had had it and told marshall to post it up. Marshall was about to till eh checked the playbook and realised there was no such thing as the scuba diver in it, so they all went out to the bar out of curiousity to see what was going to happen. They all go to meet him at his booth, their also with a blonde at the bar that barney had planned to take home, but lily had already told her everything. They all go to meet him but as barney starts to try to suduce her, he breaks down emotionally and tells them the breakup between him and robin has been harder on him than he thought bla bla. They all pity him, and tell the blonde girl to go out for coffee with him. Barney leaves with the girl and then texts lily to look under her table, she pulls out a folder and in it is a paper titled the scuba diver. They came to realise that it had all been a plan all along. Banrey planned everything. " And It Is On"
SLAPSGIVINGS 2: REVENGE OF THE SLAP
Barney's afraid when marshall entrusts a "slap bet" slap to ted and robin. Also, lily's dad suprised her and showed up for thanksgiving.
SPLITSVILLE
I love this episode because of the whole "Patrice and Robin fun day" barney had planned. Robin was having a diffiult time edning it with her not so smart boyfriend Nick Podarutti. He had hurt is groin so they weren't having sex, and that made robin realise that's all they did in the relationship. And that he wasn't so smart so they couldn't even have proper conversations. She's hesistant to break up with him so then barney takes matters into his own hands creating "Robin and Patrice's fun day" which robin would have to go for unless she dumps nick. Meanwhile lily and marshall are desperate for some alone time. Robin ends up dumping nick, but still also ends up going for "Robin and Patrice's fun day" because Barney forgot to stop the email.
Their A LOT of other episodes that are my favourite, i just chose to go with this 5.
